I’ve been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1998, and together with my wife, Lori, I co-own the Compass Center in Midway, Kentucky. After more than 25 years of teaching at the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, I recently stepped away from the classroom to focus more on my practice and community work.
As a first-generation college student, I’m especially proud of my journey through Berea College, where I graduated in 1992, and later earned both my master’s in social work and Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of publishing research in the social work field, but my true passion lies in sitting across from people and helping them navigate life’s challenges. I especially enjoy working with first responders and their families, supporting those facing spiritual struggles, and helping couples strengthen their relationships.
Outside of the office, I host the Guided podcast, drive a Jeep with the top down whenever I can, and spend a lot of time making music as a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter.
